Changes to Registration Statement

Registration statement shows name of business, name of owners and addresses. All of those information can be updated. Please note that the owners' names cannot be changed with this process.

When you pay us to obtain the name approval on be half of you, we first do pre-search into Corporations Canada system and provincial name database. If the name gets conflict or high chance of being rejected, we will advise you to submit new names. That would be free of cost. However, once a name is submitted to government, a re-submission of new name will cost again fees for name approval.

Name must be unique, should not be similar to other businesses. Name must have the following components:

1. A unique or distinctive word such as made-up word or a person's name.
2. Second part of the name describes the service your business is offering.

Examples of acceptable name ideas are: ABCXYZ Home Renovation, Sarah's Mexican Restaurant, North Vancouver home renovations Learn More.

You cannot register a business or incorporate a company with a business name unless you have the name approved first.

This is a manual process which requires documents to be mailed to BC for completion. The usual turn around time is 10 days but can take longer based on the current processing time of BC.

Fill up the name and address of the person to be removed or added. Fill up the name and new address of the partner to be modified.
